I SURVIVED THE Mountain Goat Run 2015!!! That right there is the way that I am looking at it. I knew going into the race I wasn’t going to run any where near my PR of 1:34 from last year, and I was absolutely okay with that. I started struggling around mile 4 which is never good in a 10 mile race. I just couldn’t seem to find my stride at all, and then if I did I had someone cut me off or slow down in front of me and box me in. I want to thank Maureen with Salt City Road Warriors for her support during the race. You absolutely helped push me when I needed it before Colvin Hill…not that I was able to conquer the hill, but thank you. I can absolutely say that I have never enjoyed a Freeze pop as much as I did today at mile 6 just past Manley. To the stranger handing those out a HUGE thank you! It was great to see some fellow 2015 in 2015 Runners on the Course today as well! And I think last of all, thank you to the Folsom’s for hanging out and welcoming me to the finish line! It was greatly appreciated – and CONGRATS Lisa on finishing your first race!!! I hope this is the start to MANY more! CONGRATULATIONS to all of the Mountain Goat Finishers today, whether it was your first (Lisa and Wayne) or your 20th (it was my 6th) it’s an absolute major accomplishment to be proud of!
THANK YOU to everyone for your words of encouragement and support! Please consider supporting me when I run the AIDS Run/Walk on June 7. I will be participating in the 10k race that day. Including today, and through the race in June I will be racing a total of 19.3 miles. Please consider donating to support the ACR Health: http://www.firstgiving.com/…/Monic…/23rd-annual-aids-walkrun
