My goal this year is to RUN 500 miles, and raise at least $5,000. It is almost the halfway point of the year, and as you can tell I am still just over 100 miles away from the halfway point. My goal of 500 miles is still very much feasible.
I am currently nursing a hamstring strain, so I have been taking it easy (perhaps too easy). I have faced more injuries this year than I have in the past, and I know it has more to do with me not taking care of my body the way I should be. I need to refocus my energies and get things on track in regards to stretching properly, but also fueling my body properly pre and post race.
I am 80% leaning towards NOT running the Caz 4th of July race that I have been looking forward to. I had a strong race last year and was looking forward to a great follow up this year. My concern is that I don’t have a “part-way” button. It’s ALL or NOTHING (in so much of my life really), and my fear is that I am going to go out there and hurt myself some more. I want to get a couple of runs in this week and see how I feel and just keep an eye on things.
