The Central New York area got hit with some serious freezing rain and high wind gusts yesterday afternoon. Roads were iced over in spots, and gusts of 30mph and higher hit the area. I was thinking about scrapping my plans to run 2.5 miles because of it all, but I also knew that if i did I would be constantly dwelling on it all night and regretting that decision, so nothing else to do than to put on the running sneakers and head on out!
The gusts were so bad at times I was basically running in place. The ice on the roads had me walking at times just to stay upright, but at the end of it all the run was completed. Some of my friends have called me crazy, hell I consider myself crazy, but what keeps me going out there are all of those people who don’t have a choice. Whether it be someone battling cancer and going through chemo or radiation treatments, or someone who lacks transportation and needs to get to work, or wherever they call home. It’s easy to make an excuse…easy isn’t always the answer.
